"On Point"
MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) - The United States used Europe in the confrontation against the Soviet Union, and now it is of no use to the Americans, political analyst and publicist Dmitry Kulikov said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
“Europe was constructed by the United States within this project as an alternative to Soviet socialism. Many people were drawn to this European socialism. Ukraine still believes it exists there today. However, as soon as the Soviet Union collapsed and the Soviet project ended, an intensive dismantling of socialism began in Europe. It no longer exists there now. Europe served that function solely to entice the Soviet Union. It is no longer needed by the Americans because there is no one left to entice. In this context, America will no longer subsidize Europe just to make it look good,” the expert noted.
Dmitry Kulikov explained that in the middle of the last century, the United States devised an ideological project to counter the Soviet Union. The Americans placed their bet on Europe, building an alternative to the USSR there.
