MINSK, 13 March (BelTA) - The My Belarus achievements exhibition at the Minsk International Exhibition Center has drawn more than 450,000 visitors, Aleksei Rusakevich, Director of the Information and Tourist Center Minsk, said at a press conference to discuss the development of event tourism in Belarus in 2015 at BelTA’s press center.
The large-scale exposition ran interactive programs and concerts featuring folk groups and leading Belarusian artists. “The exhibition aroused great interest among both Belarusians and foreigners. Over eight weeks, more than 450,000 people visited the exposition. Guests left about 30,000 postcards on the 'wish oak,' which became a symbol of unity. The program featured more than 130 groups presented their work and 65 vibrant events,” Aleksei Rusakevich said.
Big Tourism Week will be the next landmark event for the tourism industry which will take place in April. The program of events includes the Belarusian-Russian Tourism Congress, the International Tourism Forum Travel Hub Commonwealth, the HORECA Minsk 2026 Expo, the WHERETOEAT restaurant awards ceremony and the international exhibition-fair of tourist services Otdykh [Holiday].
