MPs ratify protocol to EAEU agreement on anti-dumping measures

MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) - The bill to ratify the Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union of 29 May 2014 in the part concerning the special mechanism for conducting investigations and making decisions on the application or non-application of special protective, anti-dumping and countervailing measures was passed at a sitting of the second session of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the eighth convocation on 20 May, BelTA learned.

The Protocol on Amendments to the Agreement on the Eurasian Economic Union of 29 May 2014 in the part concerning the special mechanism for investigations and decision-making on the application or non-application of special protective, anti-dumping and countervailing measures was signed in St. Petersburg on 26 December 2024.

The protocol is aimed at defining a special mechanism for conducting investigations and making decisions on the application or non-application of special protective, anti-dumping and countervailing measures and provides for the use of the right to veto the decisions of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission on the application of such measures.

It is expected that the improvement of the procedure for conducting protective investigations and applying protective measures will ensure that the interests of Belarusian producers and consumers are respected when introducing and applying measures to protect the internal market of the EAEU.
