MINSK, 27 November (BelTA) – Regions of Belarus and Russia should not compete but complement each other, and do so effectively through industrial cooperation and import substitution, Minsk Oblast Governor Aleksei Kushnarenko said during his working visit to Russia’s Ulyanovsk Oblast, BelTA learned from the press service of the Minsk Oblast Executive Committee.
The working visit of the Minsk Oblast governor to Ulyanovsk Oblast is an example of how the interregional cooperation of the Union State of Belarus and Russia is reaching a new level.
“I have the most positive impressions from our intensive two-day program. I am accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising the leading enterprises of Minsk Oblast. I would like to highlight our visit to the Federal Scientific and Clinical Center of Radiology and Oncology of the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia. I saw unique technologies, and what is very important, the center works effectively and implements a Union State program here. Within the framework of the Union State budget, patients from both Russia and Belarus receive treatment. It is planned that next year, 100 patients from the two countries will undergo a course of treatment in this unique center, precisely at the expense of the Union State funds,” Aleksei Kushnarenko said.
The head of Minsk Oblast also visited the Polesie DG enterprise. “Our Belarusian technologies and Russian raw materials result in more than three thousand types of toys for children. Moreover, they are oriented towards our values, the products that we manufacture both in our country and in Russia. Here you can see models of MAZ, KamAZ, BelAZ trucks, and others,” the Minsk Oblast governor noted.
Aleksei Kushnarenko is convinced that the two sides should not compete but complement each other. Moreover, they should do so effectively through industrial cooperation and import substitution.
