MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) - An unusual and heartwarming flash mob ‘Batya’ was held at the railway station as part of the Marathon of Unity in Minsk, BelTA learned.
Vadim Shepet, a popular radio host, played accordion and performed the song “Our Batya is cool” in the foyer of the station. The song became one of the highlights of the Time Chose Us concerts. In the cities hosting the Marathon of Unity it was performed by the military choir. Today this song was sung by dozens of people at the Minsk railway station.

One of those who joined the flash mob was Oleg Sudnik. “The atmosphere is super friendly and brotherly. This is probably how it should be in our peaceful and hard-working country,” Oleg Sudnik said.
Zakhar Bychkov studies in Minsk. He also took part in the flash mob. He noted that previously he participated in the Marathon of Unity in his hometown of Mogilev. “The marathon is a very large-scale event. It is a wonderful and diverse campaign with a lot of activities. I think the marathon made its contribution to our unity,” he added.
This week, the Marathon of Unity will be held at various venues of Minsk. The program includes over 70 different events: exhibitions, concerts, meetings and other activities. The marathon will end with a large-scale concert in Minsk Arena, which is expected to host about 10,000 people.
