MOSCOW, 1 July (BelTA) – Nazism, defeated in the Second World War, found new followers in the world’s most enlightened countries, the recently appointed Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi said at the opening of the Belarus’ Liberation temporary exhibition at VDNKh in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

“After the end of the Great Patriotic War, everyone believed that Nazism had been defeated once and for all. However, to our deepest regret, the ideas of Nazism gained traction in the most enlightened countries of the world. The history of the Second World War and the Great Patriotic War today is not just falsified by the collective West and its client states, but has already been completely rewritten. This was being done purposefully over several decades. And such unique projects as the Belarus’ Liberation temporary exhibition presented in this hall are designed to salvage the historical truth, to defend our history,” said Dmitry Krutoi.

“We owe this to the great generation of victors, thanks to whom we look confidently into the future. The strength of Belarusians lies in the truth, unity and patriotism. We have a country that we are proud of, we have an army capable of fighting off any aggressor, and a victorious nation who remembers heroes and values freedom,” the head of the Belarus President Administration emphasized.

The Belarus’ Liberation temporary exhibition was put together by the Culture Ministry of Belarus and the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War History. It opened in the exhibition pavilion “Republic of Belarus” at VDNKh. The project walks visitors through the key military operations on the territory of Belarus. The exhibition will be running at VDNKh until 4 August.
