MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) – The Poles no longer believe that anything can change in Poland, because every new government is just as anti-Polish as the previous one, Mateusz Jarosiewicz, a Polish publicist, journalist, public figure, expert in international relations and internal affairs of Poland, the author of "Letter to President Lukashenko from the concentration camp Polin [Poland]", said in an interview with Tomasz Szmydt in the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel as he answered the question whether Poland could join BRICS some time in the future.

“When I talk to my audience, I see that they are skeptical about the possibility of changes in Poland. They see that Poland is moving away from defending Polish interests. They see that every government that comes to power is anti-Polish and does not care about Polish interests. Poles stopped believing that Poland can reverse this trend or reap any benefits; the Poles no longer believe in this,” Mateusz Jarosiewicz said.

According to the journalist, talks about landslide geopolitical transformations and Poland’s potential are met with disbelief. “People know that the incumbent government will not do anything for Poland and will not even move in this direction. Yet, if you look at it from a meta-perspective, Poland can potentially find a place in BRICS,” Mateusz Jarosiewicz said.

The journalist added that more and more of his subscribers and other people are learning about BRICS and a new financial system based on tangible assets such as gold. “People start thinking about it. They are coming to realize that Poland’s place today is among those countries that are developing, that are free, although they are accused of totalitarianism and censorship,” he added.
