International Student Olympic Forum kicks off in Minsk

MINSK, 12 November (BelTA) - The 8th International Student Forum, titled Olympic Movement, Student Sports, Communications, and Olympic Education, has kicked off in Minsk, BelTA learned from the press service of the National Olympic Committee (NOC) of Belarus.

On the first day of the event, undergraduate and graduate students from Belarus, Russia, Cameroon, and China presented innovative projects and scientific research in the Olympic education and student sports. The forum's expert panel featured leading specialists in physical education and sports, Olympic education, and volunteer activities.

The Belarusian Student Sports Association awarded a special prize to student Svyatoslav Zasadsky for his project Social Aspects of Forming an Image of Adulthood in Teenage Hockey Players from Youth Sports Schools, and to student Yelizaveta Kotkovich for her project The Evolution of the Opening Ceremonies of the Modern Olympic Games.

The intellectual tournament Olympic Quiz will take place on 13 November. The forum is organized by the National Olympic Committee, the Belarusian Olympic Academy, the Belarusian State University of Physical Education, the Belarusian Student Sports Association, and the National Volunteer Center.
