Intensive cooperation between Belarus’, Russia’s armed forces pointed out

MINSK, 15 October (BelTA) – Cooperation between the defense ministries of Belarus and Russia reinforces the military security of the Union State of Belarus and Russia. Belarusian Defense Minister Viktor Khrenin made the relevant statement at a session of the joint board of the defense ministries of the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Belarus in Moscow, the press service of the Defense Ministry told BelTA.

Viktor Khrenin said: “I believe that today the state of Belarusian-Russian bilateral cooperation has been evaluated objectively and concrete tasks have been determined, which completion would contribute to further reinforcement of military security of the Union State. I am pleased to note the intensive development of cooperation between our armed forces. We shouldn’t rest on our accomplishments and we should ensure unconditional fulfillment of planned steps.”

The official added that the Belarusian side would make every effort to fulfill in a quality manner the complex of events and steps planned for the short term and the medium term. “I am convinced that today’s joint session will become yet another step on the way of persistent reinforcement of cooperation between our agencies,” he added.

Russian Defense Minister Andrey Belousov stressed that the decisions made during the session would contribute to the development of the military technology potential of the Union State of Belarus and Russia and to cooperation between the defense ministries of Russia and Belarus.

Andrey Belousov went on saying: “We have confirmed the readiness to jointly counteract modern challenges and threats to military security. Important decisions have been made to develop the military technology potential of the Union State and cooperation between our defense agencies. Operational and combat training remains one of the priority directions of interaction. The plan for bilateral military cooperation in 2026 includes 164 events and steps in various spheres of work. More than half of them provide for practical accomplishment of joint tasks. Mutually beneficial partnership, including for the sake of equipping the Belarusian army with modern high-precision high-tech weapons will continue. Today we have signed 14 documents. Including a program on strategic partnership between Russia and Belarus in military affairs for the next five-year period. Its realization will allow military administration bodies of our states to secure a higher level of interaction in all matters concerning the military security of Russia, Belarus, and the Union State [of Belarus and Russia] as a whole.”
