How international observers assessed presidential election in Belarus

MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) - The assessments of the presidential election of Belarus by observers from Poland, Serbia, Germany, and Switzerland speak volumes, Andrei Belyakov, Head of the Center for Public Relations and Electoral Process of the Academy of Public Administration under the Aegis of the President of Belarus, member of the Scientific and Expert Council at the Central Election Commission of Belarus, said in the latest episode of BelTA’s project “The Nation Speaks”.
“If we talk about the assessments of the presidential election in Belarus, they were very good. I mean the assessments given by journalists, observers, the SCO leadership, observers from the CIS, the Pan-African Parliament. By the way, do you remember the moment when the European Parliament adopted a resolution on Belarus? There are 27 countries in the European Parliament. This was stressed by the chairperson of the Pan-African Parliament, which currently consists of 52 countries. He said: 52 countries in Africa believe that you have the best elections in the world. Let us add the SCO, the CIS. That is, only the officially represented countries, and there are about 85 of them, said that our election was held at the best level. And only this number of biased countries said that there was something wrong with our election campaign. Hungary, by the way, spoke against it. I think that this trend will continue,” Andrei Belyakov said.

The assessments of observers from Poland, Serbia, Germany, Switzerland are very much indicative. They said that others should come to us and learn how to conduct elections,” Andrei Belyakov emphasized.
