Granit quarry, Glassworks Neman among popular industrial tourism attractions in Belarus    

MINSK, 17 March (BelTA) - The enterprises affiliated with the Architecture and Construction Ministry are gaining popularity among industrial tourists, ranking third in demand after organizations of the Industry Ministry and the Belgospishcheprom light industry concern, the Architecture and Construction Ministry told BelTA.

Belarus has seen a significant increase in the popularity of industrial tourism. In 2024, nearly 267,000 people took part in factory tours. This was one third more than in 2023. In particular, Granit quarry and Glassworks Neman (the enterprises affiliated with the Construction and Architecture Ministry) hosted 48,600 visitors last year. Only enterprises affiliated with the Industry Ministry and Belgospishcheprom were more popular among tourists.

In 2024, Glassworks Neman hosted almost 38,400 industrial tourists and 370 visitors as part of a career guidance program. In 2023, the total number of industrial tourists at the factory was over 33,600. Last year, Granit quarry was visited by 8,760 tourists. During the tour of the enterprise, visitors get acquainted with the technological process of the Mikashevichi granite quarry and learn about the history of the enterprise. The program also includes a visit to a museum and a viewing platform.
