Golovchenko meets with Oman’s foreign minister

MUSCAT, 14 October (BelTA) – Upon arrival in Oman, Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko held a brief meeting with Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, BelTA has learned.

“We are very happy to be invited to Oman. This is the first visit to Oman of a Belarusian head of government,” Roman Golovchenko said. He recalled that Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko visited this country in 2007.

The Belarusian head of government remarked that bilateral relations made a lot of progress over the years. Yet, many significant events have happened in the world in recent years, including the pandemic, political and economic crises. All this will be taken into consideration while thrashing out cooperation plans, which the Belarusian prime minister is going to do during his visit to Oman.

The Belarusian head of government is paying an official visit to Oman on 13-14 October. He is scheduled to meet with the Crown Prince of Oman and the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham Al Said, Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers Sayyid Fahd bin Mahmoud Al-Said, and Chairman of the State Council AbdulMalik bin Abdullah Al Khalili. A significant package of documents is expected to be signed during the visit.

On 15-16 October, Roman Golovchenko will pay a working visit to Pakistan. The Belarusian head of government is expected to take part in a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization member states.
