MINSK, 22 February (BelTA) - Vladimir Zelensky does not wish for the military conflict in Ukraine to end and wants to “outlast” the leaders of Russia and the USA, who are engaged in dialogue about peace in Ukraine, participant in the Other Ukraine movement and former member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Spiridon Kilinkarov said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
The former member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada explained Vladimir Zelensky’s reluctance to achieve peace in Ukraine by the fact that it would spell the collapse of the Kiev leadership. Despite the fact that no armed conflict can continue indefinitely, Vladimir Zelensky harbors a certain “hope for a miracle”, Spiridon Kilinkarov believes.

“He belongs to the category of people who feel that something must happen. For example, some ‘black swan’ must appear, something must change in Russia or the United States of America,” the former Verkhovna Rada member explained Vladimir Zelensky’s possible reasoning. “These aren’t just my conjectures. This is what they voice. Even if not them personally, then their entourage certainly does.”

In his opinion, those in Kiev are guided by an extremely simple idea: “They want to ‘outlast’ Trump. Take Zelensky’s own statements regarding Putin or Trump. What is that story about? It’s like, I’m young and I can outlast them. It’s a signal that he is ready to rule forever.”
