MINSK, 24 October (BelTA) - Ukrainian authorities are covering all their problems up in the fog of war, military expert Yuri Dudkin said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
According to him, the Ukrainian leadership could have extinguished the conflict before it escalated into a hot phase, but instead chose to pour gasoline on the fire of war.
“Belarus, the closest of kin, created all the conditions for the negotiators to meet at any time, in any number. It demonstrated its hospitality so that the conflict be resolved substantively and exclusively through peaceful means. Representatives of the post-Maidan Ukrainian authorities came and sabotaged all the meetings,” the military expert emphasized.
“Under this martial law, they [the Ukrainian authorities] are covering up everything: the outflow of citizens from the country, the destruction of economy, and the lack of gold and foreign exchange reserves. Everything is cloaked in the fog of war. It's very easy to write everything off. As soon as you start talking about this in Ukraine, you are facing 'state treason’ charges,” Yuri Dudkin noted.
