"On Point"
MINSK, 9 September (BelTA) – U.S. President Donald Trump is not yet fully free in making decisions regarding the conflict in Ukraine, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
“Trump is not yet entirely free in his decisions on the Ukrainian conflict and is bound by various commitments, internal control systems, and so on. It's simply difficult for him right now. Trump has an interest in settling the conflict, but he currently lacks the opportunities to realize it. He is forced to maneuver between commercial and political approaches,” Aleksandr Tishchenko said.
According to the expert, the U.S. leader is under serious pressure from competitors on the U.S. domestic political arena: “The pressure is such that you really can't envy him. Sometimes he is overcome by desperation when he says he will walk away from this deal and refuse mediation.”
