MINSK, 23 November (BelTA) – The finalization of the Ukrainian conflict could take place in Belarusmember of the Another Ukraine movement, former member of Ukraine’s Verkhovna Rada Spiridon Kilinkarov said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“Perhaps I am the only political analyst who says that the finalization of the conflict [in Ukraine] should occur in Belarus. From a political perspective, I hope and believe this will be the case,” he said. “It was there that we began the Minsk process, which, certainly, offered far better conditions for Ukraine than those that exist today. I think the resolution will also be in Belarus.”
Commenting on Vladimir Zelensky’s sharp reaction to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko’s recent invitation for Ukrainians to come to Belarus, the former deputy described it as obvious and understandable. “Zelensky follows the course of European policy, which differs from, for example, Belarus’ policy toward Ukraine. What is the problem with this? Citizens of your country are offered the same rights and conditions for living in a peaceful neighboring state, which invites your citizens and grants them rights to study, kindergarten, school, medical care… What’s wrong with that?” Spiridon Kilinkarov asked rhetorically.
