Expert: Lukashenko and Putin are ‘men of destiny’

MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – Aleksandr Lukashenko is a unique figure for Belarus, as well as Vladimir Putin for Russia. They are people of destiny, two leaders who emerged at a difficult time, as if they are messengers, philosopher Aleksandr Dugin said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
The expert noted that in modern history the leaders of Belarus and Russia have repeatedly stood together to defend state interests. “Several times we have found ourselves in such a situation where Lukashenko and Belarus, or Russia and Putin saved each other. They repeatedly saved each other in very difficult circumstances. In essence, this is why the union [of Belarus and Russia] is a unique example of a true common victory. This is very important,” he explained.

Aleksandr Dugin considers the leaders of the two Union State countries to be people of destiny. “We are on the same side of the barricades, standing back-to-back. Russia is simply forced to defend itself militarily, while Belarus defends its territorial integrity by other means – political ones. Lukashenko is unique for Belarus, and Putin for Russia. They are people of destiny – two leaders who emerged at a difficult time, as if they are messengers,” he emphasized.

According to the philosopher, a deeper understanding of things comes only with time, as the meaning of certain things is revealed gradually. “If you look too closely, you cannot see the full picture of this complex and deep historical process, the scale of the personalities with whom nations must deal. The Lord protects us and sends those leaders who turn out to be the necessary people in a particular historical period. This is destiny, the deepest and hidden work of the spirit, which runs through history and seems like a series of coincidences and accidents,” he concluded.
