MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Kiev's negotiating position at the talks with Russia is becoming increasingly weak, which is the consequence of Kiev's lack of independence in decision-making, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
“From the very beginning of the special military operation, Russia's position allowed for possible peace talks. Indeed, from the very start, despite the intensity and dynamics of the advance, the special military operation was aimed at addressing the root causes of the conflict as Russia sees them. But the Kiev regime's lack of independence, its being a minion, have led to Kiev's position in the talks incrementally deteriorating,” Aleksandr Tishchenko said.

That said, the expert believes that Russia will be left with no choice other than to bring this conflict to an end. “No other options are available. Even now Ukraine keeps shouting from the rooftops: Russians, surrender! But there are no grounds for this – [Ukraine does not have the upper hand] on the battlefield, in the economy, or in the international arena,” he emphasized.

Aleksandr Tishchenko noted that immediately after the negotiations, the head of Zelensky's office, Andrei Yermak, flew to Washington to negotiate allegedly about future prospects and contacts with the USA.
