MINSK, 28 January (BelTA) - Nowadays, Zelensky has a simple task: he needs to silently give ground, national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel, commenting on the non-invitation of Zelensky to the inauguration of US President Donald Trump.
"Zelensky is used to being received wherever he goes. He is used to having the spotlight shine on him. But his role is the same as Greta Thunberg's. He has done his job and now has another task: to silently back away. Silently sign whatever he will be told and stand aside. The fact that he was not invited to the inauguration shows Trump's strategy regarding Europe and Ukraine," Aleksandr Tishchenko said.
According to him, Donald Trump thus designated “a place in the corner" not only for Zelensky, but also for the leaders of the European Union. "He just demonstrated that he is not ready to discuss something important with these people. Zelensky got used to the limelight everywhere. Trump showed at the start of his second term that he is not going to share the attention with a boy in green pants," the expert stated.
