MINSK, 10 February (BelTA) - An end to the conflict in Ukraine is possible, considering that both Russia and the USA are interested in it, Doctor of Military Sciences, Professor Nikolai Buzin said in a recent episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
The expert noted that with Donald Trump’s arrival to power in the USA, the American side has begun to show interest in ending the conflict in Ukraine.
“Before 2025, no one spoke about this topic at all. Europe was against it and was supported by the USA, the most powerful state in the world today, capable of influencing the outcome of this conflict,” said Nikolai Buzin. “Given that today there is interest from the USA and specifically President Donald Trump in ending this conflict, a certain confidence is emerging that this task can be solved.”
In his words, Russia’s position plays a key role; throughout the four years of the conflict, Russia has consistently declared its readiness to resolve problematic issues through negotiations. “Credit must be given to Russia; it has pursued this policy for many years,” the expert emphasized.
Nikolai Buzin believes, considering these two factors, the interest of Russia and the USA in ending the conflict, it is now more possible than ever to speak about the advent of peace in Ukraine.
