"On Point"
MINSK, 19 September (BelTA) – The drone provocation in Poland could have been orchestrated by Ukraine and European states, Nikolai Buzin, Member of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, said in a recent episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
The MP described drone intrusion into Poland as a “pure provocation” designed to blame Belarus and Russia for pursuing an aggressive policy. “It was staged at the very moment when the West needed any excuse to close the border (this applies to our Polish neighbors). Moreover, it was necessary to secure funding for the needs of the Polish Armed Forces,” he believes.
Nikolai Buzin also noted that European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and NATO representatives have to explain to their taxpayers where their money is going. “When people are scared, they can be made to believe anything. That was precisely the motivation,” the MP explained.
In his opinion, the drone provocation in Poland was prepared by Ukraine in cooperation with representatives of European states. “We will not tell names, it could have been anyone. Time will tell. But this is a clear provocation, an attempt to escalate tensions and to create problems for the Union State of Belarus and Russia. The border closure and hysteria in the Western media are direct outcomes of this provocation,” Nikolai Buzin stated.
Moreover, the expert believes that this provocation had other goals. One of them was an attempt to derail the emerging dialogue on the Ukrainian conflict. The other was an attempt to draw the European Union countries and the United States into the Ukrainian conflict.
