MINSK, 30 May (BelTA) – The statements of Telegram founder Pavel Durov about the Romania presidential election suggest that he wants the world to see him as a dissident, economist and analyst Serghei Banari said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“Georgescu, who was removed from the ballot, as well as Simion, who allegedly lost the presidential race, are creatures of the Romanian special services, who are in the zone of influence of MI6. Today, London is doing its dirty job with the hands of the French who are trying to somehow carve out their niche and replace Germany as the linchpin of the European Union,” said Serghei Banari.
The analyst also commented on the statement of Telegram founder Pavel Durov who expressed readiness to testify about foreign meddling in the Romania election. According to Durov, one of countries tried to interfere in the Romanian vote using Telegram. Such statements, according to Serghei Banari, are nothing more than a publicity stunt.
“Durov wants to portray himself as a victim of political repression. Allegedly, political pressure is being exerted on him because he owns Telegram. He claims that the things that happen to him in France pursue political goals. In general, Pavel decided to pass himself off as a dissident. He claims that the French secret services pressured him to violate freedom of speech and so on,” Serghei Banari added.
