"On Point"
MINSK, 8 October (BelTA) – Ukraine is a prototype of Europe’s global dependence on the USA, the national security expert Aleksandr Tishchenko said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“We thought that Ukraine is a testing ground for new types of weapons today. To some extent, that is true. But even U.S. weapons sent to Ukraine cannot be used without Washington’s green light. The same rule applies to the EU, which purchases weapons from the United States. In this regard, Ukraine is a prototype of Europe’s global dependence on the USA,” Aleksandr Tishchenko said.
In his opinion, the USA is drawing Europe into total dependency by supplying arms. The expert compared this dynamic to a sword: “Europe is the blade, but the handle remains in the U.S. hands.”
Aleksandr Tishchenko believes that by around 2030, Europe will become fully reliant on American arms, with their operational control centered in Washington. “Effectively, Europe’s dependence on the USA will be so deep that achieving any form of strategic autonomy will be impossible,” he stated.
