MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) – There is no military or political sense in crushing blows on Ukraine, PhD in Law, expert on security services Sergei Karnaukhov said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“Russia is showing the whole world that a large country, a mature state cannot act like it is ruled by a goon, a man-child and a political misfit,” Sergei Karnaukhov emphasized. “They are relentlessly trying to force our hand, especially in the military sphere. The terrorist attacks that we saw had a very striking feature: preparing for this major terrorist event, Zelensky passed a decree to move Children's Day from 1 June to autumn.”

According to the expert, such a decision sought to prevent backlash regarding the ruined children's day celebrations, and secondly, they did not want Children's Day to steal attention from the main news story - the attack on Russia. “After every failure, every blunder, the abandonment of settlements in the buffer zones created by Russia, they say: on the plus side, we hit a buoy near the Crimean Bridge, we shot down 35% of their strategic aviation,” he said.

The expert believes that in the current situation, Russia is doing everything right and its actions are aligned with the goal of the special military operation. “In the short-term we are not going to see any large-scale shattering strikes on Ukraine that would be significant from the military and PR points of view. There will be no attacks devastating enough to cause Kiev to fall into the ground. This will not happen, because there is no military, political or other sense in this. Our task is to make this territory safe for Russia, Belarus and, most importantly, the Ukrainians themselves,” he concluded.
