‘Europe is terribly afraid that the war will end!’ Expert shares his thoughts on Ukraine negotiations

MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) - Europe is terribly afraid that the war in Ukraine will end, Sergei Karnaukhov, PhD in Law, expert  on security services, said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
As was noted, February is associated with two events from different years: the Maidan took place in Ukraine 14 years ago and the special military operation began four years ago. Their interconnection is obvious.

The expert explained that this February has a completely new context for him. “We must see and assess the important events happening in the world. Difficult negotiations are underway involving Russia, Ukraine, and now also with an alliance of countries. Just the other day, when the negotiations were on, the British entered the hall where our delegation was. Then out of nowhere, Germans, French, and Italians showed up there. What does this mean? It means that Europe is terribly afraid that the war will end,” he emphasized.

Sergey Karnaukhov noted the importance of assessing what is happening in an objective way. “Let's be open and honest about what is going on. We think that there are countries around us that have retained common sense and humanitarian values, that someone is ready for a world that is understandable from our point of view. In reality it is a no,” he stated, referring to the context of the actions by the United States of America, particularly the U.S. steps against Iran.
