MINSK, 3 January (BelTA) – The most difficult thing for Ukraine in the conflict with Russia is admitting it was wrong, Editor-in-Chief of the Words and Meanings almanac Elena Kondratieva-Salguero (France) said in a recent episode of BelTA’s YouTube project “V teme” [On Point].
“The hardest thing in this whole story is admitting you were wrong,” she said. “It’s the hardest thing to admit you were wrong, that you screwed up, that you betrayed. Whatever you say, traitors are not liked anywhere. It’s hard to admit that you were deceived, tricked and simply used – all the world’s ills stem from this.”

In her opinion, there is no quick fix to the current situation. She believes this approach can only be used to orchestrate provocations that could lead to enormous grief and bloodshed.

“Ukraine was punished for its own, I would say, greed,” the analyst stated. “For its inflated ambitions, for this most terrible ingratitude. In general, I believe that ingratitude is the most terrible thing in this kind of relationship.”
