MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – The head of state in his Address to the Belarusian people and parliament clearly outlined the geopolitical threats and how the country will act under these difficult conditions, member of the Presidium of the Belarusian People’s Congress and Belorusneft Director General Aleksandr Lyakhov told BelTA.
He stressed that the president’s Address was fundamental, emotional, and mobilizing. “We all understand the gravity of the moment: the world around us is becoming less democratic, less fair, and less stable. In these conditions, it is especially important that Belarus demonstrates a multi-vector, principled, constructive, and peace-loving stance. The head of state clearly identified the geopolitical threats and how our country will act in these difficult circumstances,” he noted.
“With hope and confidence we look at Belarus’ political development. The president’s efforts are aimed at preserving peace, strengthening cooperation with Russia, China, countries of Asia, Africa, and Latin America, as well as developing the regions within the country. This is a policy of stability, development, and national security, which reinforces the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of our Motherland,” Aleksandr Lyakhov said.
He also added: “Every citizen must take responsibility for the fate of the country. Only together can we continue building a strong and prosperous Belarus.”
The second session of the VII Belarusian People’s Congress is taking place in Minsk on 18-19 December. On the first day, the President’s Address to the Belarusian people and parliament is scheduled to be delivered. Belarus’ social and economic development program for 2026-2030 will be reviewed on the second day.
