MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) - The first Belarusian medicines have been registered in the Republic of Cuba, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Healthcare Ministry.
This step has become possible thanks to long-term joint work between the Belarusian (Center for Examinations and Tests in Health Service, Belpharmprom Managing Holding Company) and Cuban (Center for State Control of Drugs, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED) parties. The matter pertains to to medications produced by Minskinterkaps.
An agreement was also signed to conduct interlaboratory comparisons. Representatives of the Center for Examinations and Tests in Health Service and CECMED agreed on this. The step will increase the level of trust between the testing laboratories of Belarus and Cuba and improve the skills of experts in the laboratory research, contribute to the harmonization of requirements for quality control of medicines and, as a result, improve the efficiency and safety of drugs for patients of the two countries.
A delegation from the Belarusian healthcare system is currently on an official visit to Cuba. Representatives of the Center for Examinations and Tests in Health Service, BelMAPO and Belpharmprom visited the Ministry of Health, Center for State Control of Drugs, Equipment and Medical Devices (CECMED) and BioCubaFarma representative office.
