MINSK, 16 June (BelTA) - Trade Representative of Russia in Belarus Yuri Zolotarev spoke about the prospects of electronic engineering at the opening of the Electronic Engineering 2026 conference (third edition), BelTA has learned.
Yuri Zolotarev believes that the conference is not just a discussion platform, but a crucial working tool for addressing the strategic tasks facing Belarus and Russia. “We live in an era when technological sovereignty has ceased to be an abstract concept. It is the foundation of national security and technological infrastructure. Electronic engineering is the heart of all microelectronics. Without our own high-precision equipment, without unique machine tools and cleanroom technologies, it is impossible to build a modern sovereign digital economy,” he noted.
The initiative to hold the conference has received full support from the governments of both countries, the expert emphasized, reading out a welcoming address from Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Yuri Zolotarev also added that the strength of the Union State lies in synergy. “The historical scientific and production base of Belarus and the vast resources of Russia together produce a unique result. The Electronic Engineering conference has become that very platform where new interstate cooperation chains are born. Here, academic science instantly finds a path to the implementation of ideas and their integration into production,” Yuri Zolotarev noted. “In the next two days, we will need to discuss the most complex and critical technological issues. Building on the agreements already reached, it is necessary to outline clear further steps for the development of the industry.”
The Electronic Engineering 2026 conference is running in Minsk on 16-17 June with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation and the Industry Ministry of the Republic of Belarus, and has become a platform where strategic initiatives are transformed into concrete production cases.
