CSTO PA adopts Belarus-sponsored documents on migration security

MOSCOW, 9 December (BelTA) - Two Belarus-sponsored documents on migration security were adopted at the joint session of the Council and the 17th plenary session of the CSTO Parliamentary Assembly on 9 December, BelTA learned.

“Security matters are at the top of the agenda. Undoubtedly, migration security is one of the components of this security. Today, the concept of migration security of the CSTO member states and the recommendations on harmonizing the national laws of the CSTO member states were presented for approval at the event,” Ruslan Kosygin, Chairman of the CSTO PA Standing Commission on Socio-Economic and Legal Issues and Deputy Chairman of the Standing Commission on National Security at the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, said as he presented the documents at the meeting.

“We understand perfectly well that in today's environment migration security is one of the main issues. In order to promote their interests as the U.S. and the collective West in general are trying to realize the scenario of gray zones and so-called controlled chaos in the countries they consider raw material colonies. All the countries that the collective West steamrolled over (Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria) are facing wars, devastation, with population fleeing,” the parliamentarian noted.

“Therefore, it was important to work out normative legal acts, the basis for laws in the CSTO states. This will make it possible to ensure migration security, which clearly affects the overall security of our states,” Ruslan Kosygin added.
