MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – As many as 44 people have tried to leave Belarus over the course of one week in violation of mandatory self-isolation rules, representatives of the State Border Committee of Belarus told BelTA.
For instance, a Turkish citizen landed in the Minsk airport on 24 December. He was supposed to leave Belarus only after spending ten days in isolation. However, the foreigner tried to leave the country less than four days after landing. The Belarusian border service noted that the Turkish citizen was definitely aware of the self-isolation rules because people coming to Belarus are warned about the rules and have to sign a paper to confirm they have been duly notified.
All the offenders now face administrative responsibility. They can be punished with a fine of 2 to 50 base amounts or administrative arrest.
Representatives of the State Border Committee of Belarus stated they would like to remind Belarus citizens and visitors that in accordance with the Council of Ministers' resolution No. 208 of 8 April 2020 all people, who come from countries with an unfavorable epidemic situation, must follow the self-isolation procedure.
