Close bilateral relations between prosecutors general's offices of Belarus, Russia hailed

MINSK, 28 October (BelTA) – Russia's Prosecutor General Igor Krasnov hailed the high level of bilateral relations with Belarusian colleagues and the mutual desire to unite efforts, including in the fight against crime, the media liaison department at the Belarusian Prosecutor General's Office told BelTA following the working meeting of the prosecutors general of Belarus and Russia in Minsk on 28 October.

Igor Krasnov expressed his conviction that advancing the interdepartmental dialogue is the key to law and order.

"Rapid digitalization prompts us to jointly look for new ways to counter modern criminal challenges," he stressed. “We remain focused on the protection of the rights and freedoms of socially vulnerable categories of citizens, environmental protection, the fight against corruption, and also countering domestic violence, including against minors."

To strengthen professional contacts, Belarusian Prosecutor General Andrei Shved and his Russian counterpart signed a plan of joint activities for 2022, in furtherance to the agreement on cooperation between the Prosecutor General's Offices of the two countries.

The parties will also set up an interdepartmental working group. It will counteract violations of the law related to non-payment for export supplies of goods (works, services) and evasion of court verdicts on debt collection.
