MINSK, 8 August (BelTA) – A meeting of the expert group finalizing the draft resolution of the CIS Foreign Ministers Council on the base organization of CIS member states in the field of education information systems was held on 8 August, the CIS Executive Committee’s press service told BelTA.

The session brought together representatives from Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and the CIS Executive Committee.

Since 2005, Patrice Lumumba Peoples' Friendship University of Russia has served as the base organization for education information systems. The update of the Regulation on the Base Organization is part of the ongoing review of the CIS legal framework in the field of education.

Accordingly, revisions were made to the draft document, regarding its title, institutional designation and revised versions of specific sections of the document.

During the meeting, experts discussed member states’ proposals on the text, finalized its content and agreed to submit it for consideration by the CIS Foreign Ministers Council in accordance with established procedures.
