MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) - Belarusian State Technological University will enhance cooperation with universities of the United Arab Emirates on educational projects, BelTA has learned from Belarusian State Technological University (BSTU).
The Belarusian university hosted Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the UAE to Belarus Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Al Musharrakh on 16 January. During the meeting Rector of Belarusian State Technological University Igor Voitov briefed the Ambassador on the university’s new development avenues in terms of personnel training and plans to open new specialties. He also presented the university’s research developments, which are the most promising for joint implementation with the Emirati partners. Igor Voitov asked the Ambassador to assist in establishing partnerships with Emirati universities.
Ambassador Ibrahim Salim Mohamed Al Musharrakh noted the importance of educational cooperation between the two countries and the fact that BSTU trains engineers in a range of specialties, which are either scarce or absent in the UAE. Training in such fields as green economy, renewable energy, green chemistry, ecological engineering, forestry and afforestation is of particular interest to the UAE. Cooperation in climate change and environmentally friendly technologies has a great potential.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to enhance cooperation on educational, scientific, technological and innovative projects.
