Belarusian Railways sells over 7,500 tickets to Russia since 4 February

MINSK, 9 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Railways has sold more than 7,500 train tickets to Russia since the start of ticket sales on 4 February 2021, BelTA learned from the press center of Belarusian Railways.

Of them 74.6%, or 5,600 tickets were for train No.2/1 ‘Belarus' Minsk-Moscow operated by Belarusian Railways.

Train No.2 Minsk-Moscow that departed from the Belarusian capital on 8 February carried 320 passengers. So far, 310 tickets for train No.1 Moscow-Minsk, which is scheduled to leave Moscow on 9 February, have been sold.

Taking into account the current epidemiological situation, Belarusian Railways encourages passengers to purchase tickets online: with the help of the company's official mobile application and the updated Passenger Services section on the website pass.rw.by.

Tickets for international passenger trains go on sale 60 days prior to the departure. For example, at present passengers can buy tickets for trains to Russia up to 9 April.

According to Belarusian Railways, at first, only train No.2/1 ‘Belarus' Minsk-Moscow will run between Belarus and Russia. In addition, train No.30/29 ‘Yantar' Kaliningrad-Moscow will make a stop in Minsk.

At present, railway service on the route Minsk-Moscow-Minsk is available only to citizens of Belarus and Russia.

Up-to-date information about the schedule of international passenger trains, ticket prices, and travel procedures is available on the website www.rw.by and in the mobile application of Belarusian Railways. Passengers can also reach the contact center of Belarusian Railways by dialing 105 or +375 222 39 25 47 (for international calls).
