MINSK, 22 April (BelTA) – Officials of the Belarusian Embassy in China took part in the environmental campaign called The Forest of Friendship of the SCO Family in the Beijing Wildlife Park, the Belarusian Embassy in the People's Republic of China told BelTA.
The event was organized by the SCO Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation Commission and the SCO Secretariat. Children of the diplomats were main participants of the campaign dedicated to the SCO Year of Sustainable Development. During the event 100 trees were planted. In the end the participants received certificates confirming their contribution to the development of environmental cooperation within the SCO.
Belarus became a full member of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization on 4 July 2024 at the meeting of the SCO Heads of State Council in Astana. The main goal of the SCO is to promote cooperation to ensure peace, security, stability, economic growth, social and cultural development.
