MINSK, 7 December (BelTA) - A traditional pre-New Year event was held in Dubai, organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Belarus with the support of the Belarusian embassy in the UAE, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
More than 200 guests gathered for the celebration to feel the approach of the New Year in a warm, friendly atmosphere.
Consul General of Belarus in Dubai Aleksei Zhaldybin addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. “When you are far from your homeland, it is especially important to maintain a living connection with Belarus and feel the support of your compatriots. Gatherings like this are not just a festivity, but an opportunity for our fellow citizens to unite and feel part of the larger Belarusian community,” he said.
The evening’s highlight was a performance by the State Academic Youth Theater. The artists presented a theatrical production, demonstrating a high level of performing skill and the rich traditions of the Belarusian stage school.
The theatre’s director, Vera Polyakova-Makei, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to perform for young Belarusians living in this country.
Every child received a sweet gift from the Belarusian confectionery factories Kommunarka and Spartak.
