Belarusian defense enterprises expected to land new contracts at Army 2024

MOSCOW, 13 August (BelTA) – Belarusian defense enterprises will land a lot of new contracts at Army 2024, the international military technical forum, in the Patriot exhibition center near Moscow, State Secretary of Belarus’ Security Council Aleksandr Volfovich told the media after a tour of the exhibition, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Volfovich noted that Belarus is demonstrating a full range of novelties of its defense industries at the Army 2024 forum. "We see a lot of visitors who show interest in military products of the Republic of Belarus. I think our defense enterprises will bring a lot of new contracts," he said.

According to Aleksandr Volfovich, international exhibitions such as Army 2024 or National Security 2024, which was recently held in Minsk, gather friends. "The exhibition displays the military products made by countries that advocate peace and security while the collective West talks democracy but does not walks the walk. The violation of the Belarusian state border by Ukrainian drones, the things happening in Kursk Oblast and Belgorod Oblast speak of the true intentions of the West. This is its true face," he said.
Aleksandr Volfovich stated that the current situation in the world and the region requires adequate response measures. "Today, no state alone is able to counter new challenges and threats, which are constantly transforming and are increasingly transnational in nature," he stressed. "Within the framework of the representative international forum Army 2024, we have the opportunity to compare notes but also to discuss the most pressing issues of international and regional security."

With  the crisis in Ukraine, tensions in the European region, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific region, Aleksandr Volfovich named the priority tasks at the present stage. "At this stage, it is important to provide maximum possible assistance to the peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict and the organization of the negotiation process. We will make every effort to restore normal dialogue. Minsk has always been and remains a safe venue for such negotiations," he said.
Among the priority tasks, Aleksandr Volfovich also called the protection of the state border and a balanced border policy in order to exclude any provocations. "Today this is more relevant than ever. Certain forces abroad are deliberately trying to draw us into the conflict, to sow panic and chaos on the border of the Union State. This cannot be allowed," he stressed.

Aleksandr Volfovich noted that Belarus, as a donor of international and regional security, reliably ensures the security of the Union State. Together with the Russian Federation, a set of strategic deterrence measures is being taken in order to prevent a strike from the western flank.

"Finally, the most important task for us is to actively participate in the formation of a new architecture of international and regional security within the framework of the post-conflict world order," Aleksandr Volfovich emphasized. "The emergence of new challenges and threats not only tests the strength of the union between Belarus and Russia, but also strengthens our strategic partnership."
