MINSK, 18 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Agriculture and Food Minister Yuri Gorlov has explained on the air of the TV channel Belarus One how the abnormally cold May weather will affect plans of the farmers and the future harvest, BelTA has learned.
Yuri Gorlov said: “The crops have suffered certain damage. We are ready to replant some of the crops with the crops that may allow us to get better yields than we have planned to some degree.”
The minister assured the situation is not a major catastrophe: “It is a routine situation. No, it doesn’t happen every year. It happens at certain intervals. But there is no big danger. It is part of the routine work. We live and work in conditions of the severely continental climate.”
