Belarus, Vietnam discuss joint drills, cooperation in crime prevention

MINSK, 18 August (BelTA) – During his official visit to Vietnam, Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov met with Director of the Da Nang City Police Department Nguyen Huu Hop to discuss bilateral cooperation, the Ministry of Internal Affairs told BelTA. 

The parties addressed collaboration in maintaining public order and combating transnational crime, cyber threats and drug trafficking. Special attention was paid to sharing expertise in police training and equipping law enforcement units.

Ivan Kubrakov commended the Da Nang police's high professional standards and expressed readiness to deepen ties through joint exercises, training programs and delegation exchanges. 

His counterpart thanked Belarus for prioritizing regional cooperation and confirmed Vietnam's interest in strengthening partnership with Belarusian law enforcement agencies.

Additionally, the Belarusian minister met with Da Nang People's Committee Chairman Nguyen Van Quang. The officials explored prospects for enhanced cooperation in domestic security, governance experience sharing and improving interagency coordination between the two nations. The discussions were marked by mutual understanding and a shared commitment to advancing bilateral relations.
