MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) - Requirements for the qualifications of crisis managers are planned to be raised, Belarusian Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar told the media following the meeting of the Belarusian president with the Council of Ministers on 6 February, BelTA has learned.
The institution of crisis managers was one of the issues raised at the meeting with the head of state. According to Yuri Chebotar, the body of crisis managers consists of specific individuals who undergo training and special certification, after which they receive a document based on their qualification level.
“I believe that as part of finalizing the law, we will certainly raise the qualification requirements,” he said. “There is an understanding that any enterprise should have a qualified specialist who, with the help of local authorities, can put the enterprise in order.”
Yuri Chebotar also pointed out that crisis managers sometimes face scrutiny from law enforcement, regulatory agencies, and the Economy Ministry. “There are instances of abuse, violations of legislation. This issue was brought before the head of state today in order to establish order and develop clear, understandable requirements for such managers,” the minister added.
Regarding the issues of insolvency regulation as a whole, the president identified the stable operation of organizations as the key requirement, Yuri Chebotar emphasized. “The most important part of this work is the role of local authorities together with the ministries. The president’s demand is for enterprises to operate in conjunction with proposals from the authorities. This collaboration should play a primary role,” the economy minister said.
According to him, all these requirements will be taken into account when refining the law “On the Regulation of Insolvency”, which was adopted at the end of 2022.
