
MINSK, 17 May (BelTA) – The National Bank of Belarus will issue commemorative coins to mark the 900th anniversary of the founding of the Savior-St Euphrosyne Stavropegic Convent in Polotsk, BelTA learned from the National Bank of Belarus.
The issue will be launched on 19 May. The bank will issue: silver coins with the nominal value of Br100 (550 pieces), silver coins with the nominal value of Br20 (2,500 pieces) and copper-nickel coins with the nominal value of Br1 (4,500 pieces).
The coins are circular in shape with a raised rim on both sides. The edge is serrated. Minting was carried out at the Kazakhstan Mint of the National Bank of Kazakhstan.
The National Bank emphasized that these coins are legal tenders of the Republic of Belarus and should be accepted for all types of payments at their face value without restrictions.
