MINSK, 23 October (BelTA) – Minsk played host to the second meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of the international technical assistance project Strengthening the Capacity of the State Border Committee of Belarus in Response to Possible Increased Migration at Borders Project on 22 October, BelTA learned from the State Border Committee of Belarus.
During the meeting, the State Border Committee and the International Organization for Migration (IOM) mission in Belarus reviewed the results of their work and a recent familiarization visit by a Belarusian delegation to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The parties also coordinated their planned activities for the next reporting period. Following the meeting, both sides expressed confidence that the project's implementation will enhance the effectiveness of their joint work in managing migration flows.
The State Border Committee added that it has maintained successful and fruitful cooperation with the International Organization for Migration since 1997.
