MINSK, 16 April (BelTA) – The Federal Air Transport Agency of the Russian Federation and the Aviation Department of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry signed a number of documents on airworthiness on 16 April, the Aviation Department's press service told BelTA.
Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Aleksandr Neradko and Director of the Aviation Department of the Transport and Communications Ministry Artyom Sikorsky took part in the ceremony.
The press service said the key task is to ensure flight safety and aviation safety. Another important component is the mutual recognition of the certification, inspection, and oversight functions the states perform. The mutual recognition of continued airworthiness procedures was mentioned.
Artyom Sikorsky stressed the importance of signing the document for deeper business cooperation of Belarusian aircraft repair plants.
Apart from that, the sides signed a protocol, which provides for joint board sessions of the Aviation Department of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry and the Federal Air Transport Agency of the Russian Federation.
Such an event requires serious information support for the operation of the two aviation administrations, the press service said. It will allow the countries to promptly share the necessary information, work out documents and make decisions, which will contribute to more effective cooperation of Belarus and Russia in the area of civil aviation.
