MINSK, 19 November (BelTA) – The Belarusian side is prepared for the reopening of the Medininkai border checkpoint (Kamenny Log on the Belarusian side) and Šalčininkai checkpoint (Benyakoni on the Belarusian side), which had been closed by the Lithuanian side, BelTA learned from the State Customs Committee of Belarus.
It is noted that the border service staff is fully prepared and all necessary technical equipment for customs control is operational.
On the evening of 19 November, the State Border Committee of Belarus received an official notification that the Lithuanian authorities plan to reopen the Medininkai border checkpoint and Šalčininkai border checkpoint at midnight on 20 November (1 a.m. Minsk time).
The adjacent Belarusian checkpoints Kamenny Log and Benyakoni have remained open and will continue operating as usual.
