BERESTOVITSA DISTRICT, 16 November (BelTA) - Belarus is ready to operate the checkpoints on the border with Poland, Anton Bychkovsky, spokesman for the State Border Committee of Belarus, told the media, BelTA has learned.
“Tonight, starting at 02:00 Minsk time, Poland is resuming traffic at two international highway checkpoints across the state border following reconstruction and the completion of engineering work,” said Anton Bychkovsky.

He added that Belarus did not close the checkpoints and is ready for work. “All necessary preparatory measures have been completed,” the State Border Committee spokesman said.

“Today, at the Bruzgi (Kuźnica Białostocka) and Berestovitsa (Bobrowniki) checkpoints, meetings were held with Polish representatives at the level of heads of border control units and heads of customs posts. The parties discussed issues of joint work to facilitate the border crossing of individuals and vehicles, the operational exchange of information, and the smooth functioning of the reopening checkpoints,” Anton Bychkovsky said.
According to him, vehicles registered in the waiting zones will be let through the checkpoints via the electronic queue system, with registration commenced at 20:00 on 16 November.
