MINSK, 6 April (BelTA) – Prime Minister of Belarus Aleksandr Turchin has talked to the TV channel Belarus One and commented on the tariffs U.S. President Donald Trump has recently introduced against a majority of other countries, BelTA has learned.

Aleksandr Turchin said: “We actually live in an interesting age. If someone said that America would introduce trade duties against Japan, it would be hard to believe it. It is an interesting topic but very indefinite for now.”

Asked how these steps will influence the world and Belarus among other countries, Aleksandr Turchin said: “Time will tell. There has been plenty of all kinds of news. I’ve talked about black swans.”

Asked to clarify whether the current events represent one of the “black swans”, the prime minister remarked that it approximately does.

“I think that as a matter of principle, we need some time. Trump acts like a businessman: ask for more, we will see later on how to bargain. This is why I wonder how the world will respond. At least the USA’s key trade partners: the European Union, China, Japan,” Aleksandr Turchin added.
