MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) - The Belarusian Ministry of Internal Affairs will actively help local authorities uphold order and discipline, especially in workplace environments. Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko set the relevant task as he heard a report from Belarusian Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov on 5 November, BelTA has learned.
“The president set the task of providing assistance to local authorities in maintaining order and discipline, including in workplaces,” the minister told the media following his report to the head of state. “This task will be fulfilled. We are already working jointly with the governors. Where assistance is needed, we are monitoring the situation, including in the agro-industrial complex.”

The minister specified that this oversight will pertain to matters such as adherence to labor discipline and preventing individuals from showing up to work in a state of intoxication, especially at enterprises and organizations in the agricultural sector. “We are monitoring the situation. If we see violations of the law, we naturally respond. If it’s an administrative offense, a report is filed. If it’s simply mismanagement, we document it and send the information either to the employer or to the chairman of the district or city executive committee,” Ivan Kubrakov said.
According to him, similar work is conducted on a regular basis but will now be intensified following the head of state’s orders. Various internal affairs units have consequently been assigned specific tasks, including for local police inspectors, economic crime divisions, criminal police, etc.
The president demanded that special attention be paid to certain regions. Specifically mentioned was Vitebsk Oblast, which the head of state visited on a working trip on 24 October and where he held a meeting on the region's further development. Aleksandr Lukashenko set comprehensive tasks and demanded greater initiative from the local authorities, insisting they impose proper order, and literally “polish everything” at agro-industrial enterprises and across the region as a whole.
A serious talk also took place regarding livestock mortality. Despite all the personal attention the president has devoted to this issue in recent years, Vitebsk Oblast has added 40% to this negative trend this year. “You cannot turn work in animal husbandry into a criminal activity. There must be the strictest personal accountability for failures. So far, no matter how much anyone tries to convince me otherwise, I see that you have not reversed this negative trend. The main problem is that you lack the most basic thing - discipline,” Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized.
