MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) - Belarus views any encroachment on diplomatic facilities, the inviolability of which is guaranteed by the Vienna Conventions, as absolutely inadmissible, the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs told BelTA commenting on the incident with the Iranian consulate in Syria.
As BelTA reported earlier, an airstrike on 1 April destroyed the Iranian consulate in the Syrian capital. The attack killed 11 people, including two generals and five military advisers of the Iranian Armed Forces.
“This precedent does not only violates international law but also undermines the basis and spirit of modern international relations, regional and international security,” the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
