MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Kazakh Emergencies Minister Chingis Arinov held talks with Belarusian Emergencies Minister Vadim Sinyavsky in Minsk on 26 November as part of his ongoing visit to the country, BelTA has learned.

The Kazakh officials visited the Pozhsnab enterprise to see its production of firefighting equipment and specialized emergency vehicles. “The enterprise’s potential was showcased yesterday. I am already aware that certain agreements have been reached on the use of this equipment. The enterprises will negotiate the possibility of concluding additional contracts for the supply of Belarusian equipment and the development of production in Kazakhstan,” Vadim Sinyavsky added. “Our cooperation with Kazakh colleagues has been long-standing. The visit of the Kazakh emergencies minister is primarily driven by their interest in studying the development of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry.”

The Kazakh agency is also interested in the educational aspect of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry. “Students from Kazakhstan are receiving training at the University of Civil Protection of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry. Our services are in high demand on the international arena. We showed them how this process is organized, what we focus on, and what we have achieved over many years of work related to the safety of our people,” he said. “We demonstrated the capabilities of the National Center for Crisis Management and Response. The agenda included examining protocols for responding to natural and man-made disasters, alongside oversight and safety measures at the nuclear power plant. We note the keen interest of our partners and are prepared for extensive cooperation.”

Representatives of the Kazakh Emergencies Ministry reviewed the system for monitoring and forecasting emergency situations, examined modern risk assessment technologies, and learned about the center’s role in coordinating responses to natural and industrial crises. Consideration was given to the digitalization of management processes and the introduction of innovative solutions in rescue operations.

Chingis Arinov noted that even before arriving in Belarus, the Kazakh Emergencies Ministry identified issues and areas for discussion. Thus, the guests expressed interest in the experience of ensuring fire safety oversight at the Belarusian nuclear power plant. “You have unique experience in building safety centers. It was interesting to learn about the work of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels. There are many areas where our Belarusian colleagues have indeed achieved very good results. We are exchanging expertise and plan to develop these areas in our country,” he added. “Our countries maintain a permanent joint commission, carry out joint exercises, and share expertise. We are completely open and are committed to ensuring the highest standards of civil protection in our countries.”

At the Safety Center of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry, the Kazakh delegation was introduced to modern interactive platforms that simulate various emergency situations. The guests were briefed on how the population is educated in life safety rules. The Kazakh side praised the center’s work, noting its advanced approach to education and the crucial role such initiatives play for enhancing public readiness for all emergencies.
